Over the past few months, we have been working very hard to create our new Agency Soft image. So some of you might be wondering who we are, how did we get here and what do we do.
Who are we?
We provide software solutions for ad agencies and other marketing and communications businesses. We chose this niche because our team is made up of industry veterans or consultants. The persons working on our team have many years of experience using our tools for the agencies. In my case, I have both worked in the industry (14 years at WPP) and as a consultant implementing ERP (management) software solutions to businesses like yours.
Our mission is to “provide high-quality software solutions to, you, our clients and help you improve your agency’s profitability and efficiency.” Let’s break this down.
We say “high quality” because we don’t provide any software. We have chosen to partner with, Deltek, the market leader in software solutions for project-based businesses.
- Tens of thousands of users in advertising agencies and the marketing communications sector use its agency solutions. Their client base ranges from agencies of a few people to big international groups.
- One of the great things about Deltek is that they are part of Roper Technologies, a company quoted on the New York Stock exchange. “So what?” It’s great because the company is constantly investing in the latest technologies to ensure that its software is up to date and relevant.
- We want our clients to improve their profitability and efficiency because we know that operational efficiency is a blind spot for many agencies. We have seen a lot of agencies that are great at delivering excellent work to their clients. However, we’ve seen them struggle to do this profitably.
- We have chosen to provide software solutions rather than consultancy because we passionately believe that the right software is the foundation of operational efficiency.
Ultimately it’s all about you, our clients. We want to provide you with the highest quality solutions to make your agency a success.
How we got here?
We spoke a little about how we got here in a previous blog and I touched upon this above in explaining our mission.
The agency business model has changed!
The advent of social media and the digital revolution has impacted many industries. However, ad agencies have really struggled to adapt. They are also facing competition from the consulting firms, in-house teams, the social media companies themselves, and the man in his garage. And that was before the world was plunged into a recession with a global pandemic.
Clients want more for less and use the pitch process to commoditize agencies and bid down their costs. Agencies are facing the “Fatal Trifecta” (fixed budget, fixed costs, and variable scope) so they struggle to sell client work at a profit. Worse still, there were a lot of agencies that were not billing expenses that they should bill, effectively “leaving money on the table.”
The agencies that were not struggling all had one thing in common, they all had a world-class project/resource management system that allowed them to track the client and project profitability. They recognized that this software was essential and found that the pricing was very competitive. On top of that, they found out that it paid for itself many times over.
They did not use tools like excel and email to manage their businesses.
What do we do?
This is what differentiates us from our competitors. The following list brings together some of the things that I have already explained above.
- People who understand our agency are the basis of our team
- We provide world-class software from an established leader in its field
- Our software solutions are competitively priced and affordable to small agencies as well as the international groups
Pulling that all together means that we don’t just sell software. We partner with agencies to give them the best practice solutions to their problems. Our company understands that every agency is slightly different. We help them tailor the solutions to get the highest return on their investments.
